BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.

Why We Exist

Trafficking women and children for sexual exploitation is the fastest growing enterprise in the world despite the efforts of 134 countries and international laws that criminalize sex trafficking.  The problem is massive:  A $32 billion industry that has enslaved over 20 million adults and children.  Their lives are changed forever.  There are stories that strip away any hope that the world can be changed.  Stories like Kolab, a sex trafficking survivor from Cambodia that said “they forced me to sleep with as many as 50 customers a day.  I had to give [the pimp] all my money.  If I did not [earn a set amount] they punished me by removing my clothes and beating me with a stick until I fainted, electrocuting me, cutting me. . .”  There are stories like Carla from Tenancingo, Mexico whom at age 12 was forced into sex trafficking by a pimp.  She was punched, kicked, burned and was raped 43,200 times.  But these are also stories of survivors! They still had a will to live and thrive.  We want to help restore and redeem the dignity that was stolen from them.

Unlikely Heroes

Unlikely Heroes is named after a collective group of people across the globe who refuse to leave 27 million people trapped in slavery.
They are heroes not because the masses know their name, but because they’re willing to take up the fight.
